Companies must submit their samples to the address specified by the competition organisers. Each registered oil must be submitted in the specified quantities—either three 0.5-litre bottles or cans or two 1-litre cans—with multiple samples from the same company clearly identified.
All samples must be submitted by the date specified by the competition organisers, with a printed copy of the registration form attached. Companies are fully responsible for the safety of their samples, and any damage will be reported immediately upon receipt. Furthermore, the competition organisers are not responsible for customs duties, storage costs, or logistics, and registration fees are non-refundable if samples do not arrive in time for tasting.
Following the evaluation process, the results will be announced in February 2026.
Tasting and Judging Process
The organisers of the Pyramids IOOC & IOC Competition and the International Olympic Committee, through the jury and its chairman, will conduct a blind tasting of all samples to ensure complete transparency.
The tasting process begins with a preliminary phase to confirm the oil's category, followed by a final tasting phase during which the following awards will be awarded based on the scores obtained:
Gold Pyramid Award: 86 to 100 points
Silver Pyramid Award: 76 to 85.99 points
Bronze Pyramid Award: 65 to 75.99 points
Pyramids IOOC & IOC will be judged by accredited panellists from the International Olive Council. The judging panel will be selected by the organising committee, and the number of judges will be commensurate with the number of registered samples.
The list of judges will be published on the competition's website:
https://www.egyptolivefestival.com/piooc-2026 and on social media platforms.
The judges' decisions are final and binding. The organisers reserve the right to disqualify any sample that does not meet the competition's requirements.
